*peace one day*

An initiative started by Jeremy Gilley, it's all coming down to the Global Day of Truce 2012. From a wonder, to a goal, to a realization, Jeremy paved the way for the U.N. resolution to make Sept 21 be a global day for peace (International Day of Peace).

Over the last 10 years, Peace Day has been proved as an opportunity for life-saving activities and action by individuals worldwide. For Peace Day 21 September 2012, Peace One Day is calling for and working towards a day of ceasefire and non-violence - the Global Truce 2012 campaign. We hope that this will be the largest reduction in global violence in recorded history, both domestically and internationally – and the largest ever gathering of individuals in the name of peace.

Consider the work you are already doing in your community... Let's all be concerted in our efforts on Sept 21, 2012. Be part of Peace One Day... every effort will make a difference, whether it's in a "typical" conflict-ridden community or in the suburbs: every community must always be working for peace and reconciliation.

Peace efforts don't just look like your stereotypical "peacebuilding" efforts carried out by NGO's in parts of the world from which most of us are cut away. Peace efforts also look like supporting victims of domestic abuse, supporting mental health initiatives, educating primary and secondary school kids, spreading peace & hope to the elderly, or supporting any kind of group that seeks to build community in any sector of our society.

Only through a solidified community can peace be truly achieved. And wherever there is loneliness of the heart, we must work to reconcile it back to the community. Just as whenever there are bullets coming down on any given community, we must work to reconcile the affected and the perpetrator.

Peace & Love,

Kristellys

Blessed are the Peacemakers
